Age relaxation will be provided to candidates belonging to reserved categories as per the rules of the Uttar Pradesh government.

Educational Qualifications and a Major Change:

The detailed advertisement, which will specify the full educational qualifications, is expected to be released by UPPSC soon. Traditionally, a B.Ed. degree has been a standard requirement for these posts. However, a notable change for this recruitment is the exemption of the B.Ed. degree for certain subjects, most notably Computer Science.

This significant amendment was approved on March 28, 2024, under the Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Education (Trained Graduate Category) Service (Sixth Amendment) Rules 2024. This revision is a welcome relief for computer teachers, as the previous 2018 recruitment saw a large number of Computer Science posts go unfilled due to the strict B.Ed. mandate, despite many qualified technical graduates lacking the degree. While a B.Ed. will still be a preferential qualification for computer teachers, it will no longer be an absolute prerequisite, opening up opportunities for more technically proficient individuals.

Mandatory One-Time Registration (OTR):

The UPPSC has stressed the importance of completing the One-Time Registration (OTR) process and obtaining an OTR number before initiating the online application. Only applications submitted through the OTR system will be accepted. For LT Grade Teacher, candidate need to register first for OTR Registration.

Future Steps by UP Education Service Selection Commission:

In a parallel development, the Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission recently convened to discuss measures to expedite teacher recruitment across all levels of education. The commission decided to prioritize addressing technical deficiencies in its online portal through joint meetings with the National Informatics Centre (NIC) and various stakeholder departments. This initiative aims to streamline the process of receiving vacancy information and accelerate future recruitment drives. The meeting also addressed the inclusion of TGT Biology in recruitment based on High Court directives.

Major Change for Computer Teacher Posts

In a key change, BEd qualification is no longer mandatory for the post of Computer Teacher. As highlighted in the report, this move addresses the low fill rate in the 2018 recruitment cycle, where only 36 out of 1,673 posts were filled due to strict BEd criteria.

Now, technically qualified candidates without a BEd degree can apply for the Computer Teacher role, although having a BEd is still considered desirable.

Application Process

UPPSC, in partnership with the National Informatics Centre (NIC), is upgrading its online portal for a smoother application experience. Interested candidates must first complete the One-Time Registration (OTR) on uppsc.up.nic.in. After registration, they can fill out the LT Grade Teacher application form, upload necessary documents, pay the required fee, and download the confirmation slip.

Selection Process

The recruitment process will include a written examination followed by document verification. UPPSC is expected to release the detailed syllabus and exam pattern soon. Applicants are advised to regularly check the official website for updates.
